Kind Kayla
Being the big sister means I get to help all the time, and I actually love that. I like setting the table just the way Mommy likes it, helping Tiny Tova with her shoes even when she insists she can do it alone, and reminding Bubbly Bina to take at least something when she leaves the house. Helping makes me feel useful and happy.
Life has good days and tricky days, but a smile and a kind word can fix almost anything. And when Bubbly Bina and Neat Nina start arguing (which might happen pretty often), I remind them that we don’t all have to be the same to get along. Hashem made each of us different on purpose because every person adds something special.
I love learning things that help me see the beauty in the world. When I know the meaning of a bracha or hear a story with a more profound message, it feels like I’m discovering a tiny hidden treasure.
My favorite mitzvos are the ones that spread kindness. Baking challah with a special bracha, helping Tiny Tova learn new words, or making sure everyone gets a fair turn in a game all make me feel like I’m adding a little more light to the world. I try to do everything with a happy heart, because I think that’s what Hashem wants most.
And if you ever need advice, someone who really listens, or the best way to fold napkins for Shabbos, you can always come to me.
